Passed away peacefully on Monday, July 9, 2012, two weeks after her 90th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Daniel D. Zimmerman; mother of Bree Fary (Tom), D. David Zimmerman, II (Melanie), and Roxanne Fus (Robert); grandmother of Amanda Fary, Danielle Fus, Daniel D. Zimmerman, III, Rachel Fus, Jesse Lim, Kathryn Zimmerman and the late Michelle Ringo; sister of Hugh Smith, Jr. of California, Caroline Kuempel of Texas, and the late Elaine Crawford, CE. Smith and James Booth Smith. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren. She was born June 24, 1922 in Ridgeland, SC. She was a proud alumna of Winthrop College. A teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools for many years, she retired from Robert E. Peary High School. Graveside Service and Inurnment at Parklawn Memorial Park, 12800 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD, on Wednesday, July 18, at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The East Iredell Lion’s Club, 336 River Hill Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
