Born on May 31, 1933 in Gifu, Japan, Mariko passed away of natural causes in her Silver Spring home Sunday, September 17, 2017. In recognition of her hard work, dedication and years of service at the University of Maryland, her name is beautifully engraved in the water fountain in front of the Department of Engineering building. Beloved wife of the late Harry L. Wright; devoted mother of Caroline L. White and the late Theodore R. Wright; sister of Michiko Shinoda; loving grandmother of Emily, Alexa and Sophie White.
