WILLIS, Inez Mary

INEZ MARY WILLIS
Inez Mary Willis passed on to a glorious afterlife on May 8, 2016, during a beautiful, sunny Mother”s Day full of love, compassion, flowers, and lavender oil. She leaves us to join the love of her life, her husband, Layton B. Willis, who preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by her son, Gary Cameron; daughter-in-law, Joann Cameron; grandson, Andrew Cameron; his wife, Anna Singer, plus numerous family and friends who loved and cherished her dearly. Inez was born September 22, 1923 in Detroit. She proudly attended the benchmark of the Detroit Public School system, Cass Tech, as a seamstress major. Her joys were her entire family, beloved Detroit Tigers, family dogs throughout the years, fishing, and travelling the highways of the U.S. with the love of her life, Willie. She was always a source of tremendous courage and inspiration, battling breast cancer into remission at the age of 87, and LIVING for another six years. A beautiful survivor, an outstanding parent, and a loving matriarch who took extreme pride in every family accomplishment. She will be forever missed. The family wishes to thank Virginia Cirilo and Luzviminda Salarda and the wonderful staff of Montgomery Hospice who gave Inez such devoted and compassionate care.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, Maryland on Friday, May 20 at 12 noon and 1 p.m. respectively. A burial committal will be held at St. Paul”s Episcopalian Church Cemetery on Saturday, May 21, in Chestertown, Maryland at 11 a.m.
