GEORGE LOUIS VANCE

On Sunday, August 16, 2009, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Martha Vance; son of Catherine and the late Sam Vance; brother of Stephan Vance; father of Sam Vance and step-father of Alex Barge; grandfather of Max, Echo, and Zoe Vance. Relatives and friends may call at St. Mark Orthodox Church, River Road and Nevis Street, Bethesda, MD, on Wednesday, from 7 to 9 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 20, at 10 a.m. Interment Rock Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the George Vance Young Bassists Education Fund at the International Society of Bassists, 14070 Proton Road, Suite 100 LB9, Dallas, TX 75244.
