PHILIP WAYNE UBEL (Age 58)

Philip Wayne Ubel was born on a rainy Saturday, February 14, 1959, and departed this life on Sunday, August 6, 2017. He enjoyed fishing and would take his boat out numerous times in the summer especially but other times of the year as well. Even though he rarely returned with any fish, he enjoyed his times of solitude on a lake or river. He also enjoyed hunting occasionally. He looked forward to the annual family vacations to his grandparents’ farm in Albany, Kentucky. He enjoyed helping his uncles, cousins, and grandfather with their farming chores and sometimes driving a tractor in the fields. As an adult, he talked of buying some property and moving there. He followed in his father’s footsteps by working in construction as a carpenter. He is survived by two sisters, Teresa Wertz and Rita Dopp, brothers-in-law, Ron Wertz and Steve Dopp, nieces, May Collins, Amy DeLorge, and Emily Wertz, nephew, Joe Mitchell, and great nieces and great nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Forcey Bible Church, 2130 East Randolph Road, Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, August 12, at 5:30 PM. Interment private.
