ELIZABETH RAIFORD TURNER (Age 87)

Elizabeth Raiford Turner went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2016. ”Libby” was born March 13, 1928 in Victoria, Virginia to George Hunter and Mary Beaton Raiford. A 1950 graduate of Randolph-Macon Women”s College and a teacher and homemaker in the Washington, DC area for many years, she loved flowers, birds, handicrafts, and playing the piano. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she was preceded in death by David M. Turner, Jr., her husband of 42 years, and her beloved granddaughter, Michelle Stanton Turner. She is survived by her daughter, Ellen B. Turner and son-in-law, Robert L. Peskin of Bethesda, Maryland; her son, David R. Turner and daughter-in-law, Kristy K. Turner; and grandsons, Austin and James Turner of San Antonio, Texas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday January 12, 2016, at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD at 10 a.m., with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer”s Association.
