ANNA ELEANOR TOWNSEND

On May 21, 2009,  Anna Eleanor Townsend, age 92, of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Washington DC and Silver Spring, MD.  She was born August 29, 1916 in Philadelphia, PA to Eleanor and Albert Scheetz.   Preceded in death by her husband, James Townsend, a sergeant on the DC police force,  she is survived by her daughter, Anne Boyd, of Little Rock, AR;  three grandchildren, David Boyd, of Little Rock, AR, Allison Boyd, of Denver, CO and Michael Boyd and his wife, Melanie, of Maumelle, AR; and three great-grandchildren, Colin, Lane and Ellie Boyd.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Colllins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD with interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Montgomery County, 14645 Rothgeb Dr., Rockville, MD 20850 or to the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Rosensteel Council #2169, 9707 Rosensteel Ave.,. Silver Spring, MD 20910.
