Sweeney and the late Gertrude Ann Sweeney; father of Maureen Sweeney Becker, BJ Sweeney, Christine Kelley, Deanne Fosnocht, MD, and Nancene Salazar; grandfather of Kristie, Brian and Melissa Sweeney, Meagan, Alissa, Heather and Kiersten Kelley, Rachel Ann, Abigail and Julia Fosnocht, Tristan, Alexandra and Drew Salazar. He was a graduate of Ben Franklin University in Accounting and retired at the age of 54 from The World Bank in 1986.
