On Wednesday, August 12, 2009, of Grasonville, MD, formerly of Montgomery County. Beloved husband of Anna Maria Stanton; father of Michael (Katherine) Stanton, Jr., Andrew (Daysi) Stanton, Erin (Richard Long) Stanton and Luke Stanton; step-father of Leigh Anne Riedman; son of Katherine M. and the late Dr. James S. Stanton; son-in-law of Ella Mae and the late Henry J. Volk; brother of Katherine (Paul) Roddy, James Stanton, Jr., Marie (Richard) Cardany, Patrick (Jeannette) Stanton, Mary Elizabeth (James) Walsh, John (Kathleen) Stanton, Sarah (John) Rasmussen, David (Mary) Stanton, Mary Margaret (Dennis) Barry and Paul Stanton. Also survived by 14 nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick”s Church, Norbeck & Muncaster Mill Roads, Rockville, MD on Monday, August 17, at 10:30 a.m. Interment private.
