Margaret K. Shaffer (Age 95)
On Monday, December 26, 2016, Margaret K. Shaffer of Adelphi, MD, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her husband and children. She was born in 1921, in New York City, New York to Jacob and Mary Kuzmich. Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, James H. Shaffer; her children, Peggy (Ray) Schar, Jerry (Bill) Diehl, Gary (Jamie), Bev (Amos) Gardiner, Robin Pernia, Jim (Nina) and Kim (Rich) Lamont. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Friends and family will be received at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Colesville Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20910 on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by a Memorial service and reception. Interment will follow at George Washington Cemetery, Adelphi, MD. In lieu of cards and flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
