CLAIRE SHIELDS SANFORD

On Sunday, October 30, 2011, of Silver Spring, MD died peacefully surrounded by her family at home. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lewis “Ray” Sanford, Sr.; mother of Terry (Sanford), Jeff Hinds, Lew and Peg Sanford, Jr. Grandmother of Lauren and Amanda Hinds and Kelley and Matt Sanford. Also survived by her sisters, Maryrose and Kathy; brother, Bill; many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at COLLINS FUNERAL HOME, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking), Tuesday, November 1, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial Mass at Shrine of St. Jude, 12701 Veirs Mill Rd., Rockville, MD on Wednesday, November 2, at 11 a.m. Private interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Montgomery County.
