LEO J. ROMANOWSKI, SR. (Age 88)

Peacefully departed on Saturday, February 22, 2014, Leo Sr. of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Alice Romanowski for 65 years; adventurous father of Leo (Peggy) Romanowski, Jr., Gail (John) Trupo, and Keith (Fidelia) Romanowski; cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Brooke, Diana, Lisa, Adam, Kristie, Brian, and Courtney; loving brother of Stanley Romanowski and Christina Marshall and 10 deceased siblings. Also survived by eight great-grandsons. Trained as a machinists mate/electronics technician, Leo served on a USN destroyer at the final WW II battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and retired with 32 years civilian federal service. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking), on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernadette’s Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD, on Friday, February 28, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
