MANUEL T. ROJAS

Of Berwyn Heights, Maryland, left this world on Sunday afternoon, June 9, 2013 at home surrounded by family. A native of Ecuador, South America, Manuel lived in the US for over 60 years with his beloved wife of 57 years, Maria F. Rojas. Manuel is survived by his wife Maria, seven children, Annette, Marie Louis Altemus, Patricio, Rudolf, Thomas, Constance Macy and Rene. He is also survived by his sister Francis Estella of Quito, Ecuador. He also has seven grandchildren. Manuel worked at the Catholic University of America for over 25 years in Accounts Management and also in professorial capacities. He had many hobbies and talents, including calligraphy and languages, speaking Italian and French fluently. He and his wife enjoyed a long retirement period where they travelled the world widely and also enjoyed watching their grandchildren grow up. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church, Berwyn Rd. and 49th Avenue, College Park, MD, on Thursday, June 13, at 10 a.m. Interment private. Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to Capital Caring or The American Cancer Society.
