
Thomas David Reese, Sr. (Age 84)
Thomas David Reese Sr. of Bethesda, MD passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018. He was born in Washington, DC on October 21, 1933 to the late Guy White Reese and Eutrella Frazier Reese. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Kathleen Lawrence. He is survived by his children Thomas David Reese, Jr. (Roxanne), Victoria Reese Knicely (David), Mary-Eve Reese Brown (Stephen) and Patrick Guy Reese; his son-in-law William Lawrence; grandchildren Megan Reese Allen (Stuart), Erica Knicely Adams (Braden), Kathleen Albertson (Scott), Lisa Lawrence, Jeanine Lawrence (Elizabeth Gonzalez), Carter Stephen Brown, Anna Reese Brown, Katherine Joan Brown, Jason Patrick Reese, and Benjamin Guy Reese; and great grandchildren Reese Allen, Grant Allen, Hawthorne Adams, Kalissa Albertson, Leilah Albertson, Grayson Albertson, and Emri Lawrence-Gonzalez.
Tom graduated from Maryland Park High School and received Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Commercial Science from Strayer College. He retired from the US General Accounting Office in 1989 after 32 years of service. Following retirement Tom became a world traveler and visited all seven continents, over ninety countries, and all fifty states. He was a lifelong volunteer and his service included the National Park Service White House Visitor Center (23 years), Smithsonian Institution (18 years) and Meal on Wheels (10 years). Baseball was an important part of Tom’s life; as a player, a coach, and always as a fan. He was a proud Washington Nationals season ticket holder and he attended hundreds of games, 1st at RFK and then at Nationals Park. Tom was an excellent cook and he enjoyed entertaining. He gave many wonderful dinner parties for his family and friends.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd West, Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm where his life will be celebrated.
