On Monday, July 16, 2018, Gordon Rabe passed away unexpectedly at his home in Silver Spring, MD. He was the beloved husband of Mary Baetsen Rabe; father of Patrick Rabe (Sara), and brother of Irene Heid. He is also survived by stepsons Kevin Baetsen (Donna) and Stephen Baetsen (Leslie) and grandchildren Ryan, Lauren, and Alex Baetsen. Gordon was a native of New Salem, ND and graduated from Jamestown College with a degree in Mathematics. He served in the U.S. Army and then went on to a long career with the National Security Agency. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 12570 State Route 108 Clarksville, MD 21029. A private graveside service for family and interment were held at First Lutheran Church of Bowie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
