MARIE JOHNSON PIPER (Age 90)  

Our dearest Marie passed away on December 30, 2018 due to heart failure. She is survived by Leland, her loving husband of 59 years, her brother Joseph, three children Mark (Sharon) and Stuart Piper and Lorraine (Mark) Shaw, a granddaughter Allison Shaw and many dear friends and relatives. Marie grew up in Staunton, Virginia and graduated from Dunbarton College where she majored in chemistry. She brightened the lives of all those around her with her instinctive, welcoming good nature and generous heart. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Sunday, January 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Shrine of St. Jude, 12701 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD, on Monday, January 7, 11 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Wheaton, 10101 Connecticut Avenue, Kensington, MD 20895.
