OLIVER NORRIS PHILIP (Age 84)

On Monday, August 1, 2011, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Maria Ifill Philip. The former Commissioner of Police for the Commonwealth of Dominica, he was the devoted father of Veda, Joyce, David, Samuel, Paul, Peter, Barbara, and Ray. Mr. Philip was predeceased by daughter, Fern and son, Daniel. He leaves 21 grandchildren. Also mourning his loss are his brother, Alton and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Oliver, Earle, Bert, Maria and Gwen Ifill. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, August 5, 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and at Calverton Baptist Church, 12625 Galway Drive, Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, August 6 from 10:30 to 11 a.m., where a celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Interment Private.
