DONALD JOHN ORTNER, SR. (age 73)

Of Kensington, MD passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012. Beloved husband of Joyce E. Ortner; father of Don (Gail) Ortner, Jr., Allison (Jon) May, and Karen Ortner; grandfather of Jessica, Alex, Benjamin and Brian. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral service at Sligo Church, 7700 Carroll Ave., Takoma Park, MD on Friday, May 4, at 11 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers, the family has indicated that those wishing to honor Don may make donations to the Donald J. Ortner Graduate Student Fellowship in Physical Anthropology, c/o Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Office of Development, P.O. Box 37012, MRC 135, Washington, DC 20013-7012.
