Died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 after a long illness surrounded by his loving family and caregivers. Born in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Daniel H. Sr. and Grace Morrissey (nee Murphy). He was a 55 year resident of Chevy Chase, MD and had moved to Asbury Methodist Village a year ago. A graduate of Brown University, he subsequently received graduate degrees from Georgetown University. During the Korean War he served in the Coast Guard. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Barbara McGrath Morrissey and his loving children, Daniel (Anna), Kerry-Grace (Adam Rice) and Michael and eight adoring grandchildren, Evan, Lauren, Annie, Andrew, William, Christine, Patrick and Alexander. Relatives and friends may call at Holy Redeemer Church, 9705 Summit Ave., Kensington, MD, on Saturday, February 3 from 10 to 11 a.m., where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
