MICHAEL FRANCIS MERCURIO (Age 53)

Of Rockville, MD died on Wednesday, January 16, 2014. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22 at Christ the King Church, 2301 Colson Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The viewing is at the church before the service from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven immediately following. Born in Washington, DC, November 11, 1960, Mike was raised in Hyattsville, MD. He graduated from St. John’s College High School, received a BS Degree from The George Washington University, then a Master’s Degree from University of Maryland. He served as a Human Resources Director for over 25 years in various non-profits. Mike will be remembered for his long service as Condo Association President, and for the parties he organized for residents and friends. He was a kind and compassionate person, and a loving son and brother. Mike is survived by his beloved mother, Margarita M. Mercurio; his loving older brother, Dante G. Mercurio; his aunt, Donna DiGennaro; and many cousins. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Dante A. Mercurio. He leaves behind many friends, colleagues and loved ones. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Mike’s name to Christ the King Church.
