LILIAN MENDIS (Age 93)
On Sunday, December 4, 2011, of Marbury, MD. Beloved wife of the late Matthew S. Mendis, Sr.; mother of Mervyn (Maria), Kenneth (Joy), Bennett, Dennis (Elaine), Matthew (Roxanne) Mendis, Jr. and Merle (Manuel) Mendis-Dennis and the late Colvin Mendis. Also survived by eight grandchidren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Bernadette’s Church, 72 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD on Friday, December 9, at 10 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC 20017.
