On Saturday, September 5, 2009, of Easton, MD.  Beloved husband of Elisabeth Martinez; devoted father of Wendy (Raman) Rao and Laurie Pena-Ariet; grandfather of Richard (Megan) and Alyssa Pena-Ariet; brother of Lillian Edwards and Alfred Martinez; uncle of John Edwards.  Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6701 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD, on Saturday, September 12, at 11 a.m.  Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Memorial Hospital at Easton, 219 South Washington Street, Easton, MD 21601 in recognition of the dedicated, loving and compassionate staff of the Transfusion Center and Unit 3 East.
