FERNANDO LUIS LEON (Age 95)

Peacefully on Monday, August 1, 2011, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of 66 years to Argelia Rivera Leon; youngest and last child of Francisca Rodriguez and Vicente Leon; devoted father of Fernandito Leon and Sonia Reig; father-in-law of Jose Reig; proud uncle of Elba, Chente, Tito, Gloria Eneida and Cuto of Puerto Rico. Fernando was born June 11, 1916 in Jayuya, Puerto Rico which he was very proud of as well as being an American citizen. He served in World War II and worked as a Federal employee for 30 years in personnel at the Civil Service Commission, Fort Myers, The Smithsonian and ended his career in federal service in 1973 at the National Institutes of Health. Relatives and friends may call at St. John the Evangelist Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20902 on Saturday, August 6 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. with a memorial mass at 11 a.m. Interment private.
