CAROLYN B. LEE

On Monday, August 16, 2010 of Silver Spring, MD after a short battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife of Philip F. Lee, III for 47 years; devoted mother of Christopher L. Lee and Barbara Lee (Lt. Col. Theodore) Epple; loving grandmother of Benjamin, Matthew and Bentley Epple; sister of Evelyn Bentley Wetherford, Rebecca Joyce Bentley, Juanita Bentley Jones, Billy Ray Bentley, Ruby Bentley Phillips, Bobby Joseph Bentley, and David Baxter Bentley. Elizabeth Carolyn Bentley was born on January 14, 1942 in Monroe, Georgia, the daughter of William Baxter Bentley and Mary Elizabeth Lois McDaniel Bentley. She grew up in Winder, Georgia and attended Winder-Barrow HS. She met her future husband in Atlanta and they married on April 7, 1963. She worked to support him and their first child Barbara, while he attended graduate school at Georgia Tech. A Silver Spring, MD resident for 35 years, she received an Associates in Accounting Arts and worked as manager for the Federal City Club for 10 years. Later she worked in the accounting department for Leisure World until her retirement in 2007, where she was beloved by her co-workers. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD on Thursday, August 19 2010 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. where service will be held at 1 pm. Interment Rose Hill Cemetery, Winder, GA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure , MD Affiliate, 200 E. Joppa Road, Suite 407, Towson, MD 21286
