On Thursday, September 22, 2016 of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of Margaret Larkin and former husband of Toshiko Asaka; father of Marie, Annette and John Larkin; grandfather of Charlotte, Bella and Max; stepfather of Jennifer and David Norman. He spent the last day of his life in a coma surrounded by his family, his priest Fr. Dan and the incredible staff of Suburban Hospital – a day marked with laughter, tears and love. In true Irish fashion, Dave left when the party was over. Just three weeks shy of his 87th birthday, Dave was a child of the Depression and all that that entails. A frugal man who always “cleaned his plate”, Dave was a locavore/hunter/gatherer who taught his children the pleasures of fishing, gardening and raiding local forests for nuts, berries and the occasional flora and fauna. A graduate of Villanova who received his master’s degree from University of Maryland. He loved women, wine and sang the Villanova fight song often and badly.
