Together they celebrated 40 years of marriage until Raymond’s death in 1987. Throughout her life Ruby was faithful to God, her church, country, family, and friends. She was a lifelong Presbyterian. While a member of Rockville Presbyterian Church she was instrumental in publishing the church newsletter for many years. In her later years she was an active member of the Shady Grove Presbyterian Church, PCA. In her youth Ruby played trumpet in the Georges Township High School band, Uniontown, PA, and at a local church. She was a National Honor Society member and a member of the 4H Club. After graduating high school she attended Franklin Commercial College, Connellsville, PA. Upon graduation she worked for the federal government in various departments in Washington, D.C. Her interests included square dancing, gardening, watching and feeding songbirds, sewing, and church activities. She was devoted to her PA extended family, especially her mother, and often wrote and visited PA many times over the years. Ruby traveled multiple times with her husband to visit Ray’s family in Illinois and Florida. They also enjoyed an overseas trip to Israel with their church family. Ruby took faithful care of her mother-in-law Marie Lang when Marie was in failing health. She was a caring friend to neighbors and colleagues.
