
Martin “Marty” Michael Lagoy
Martin “Marty” Michael Lagoy, of Silver Spring, Maryland, age 63, passed away peacefully after fighting a 16-month battle with colorectal cancer, on Saturday, March 31, 2018, surrounded by his entire family at his side. He was born September 27, 1954 to Prima Lagoy and the late Honorato Lagoy. Marty is survived by his beloved wife, Celeste of nearly 34 years; children, Julian, Jessica, Jonathan and Jacqueline; children-in-law, Kevin and Daniela; mother, Prima and brother, Paul. Marty was a native Washingtonian, 1972 Archbishop Carroll HS graduate, 1976 Franklin Pierce University graduate, and Facilities Manager for 15 years at Blessed Sacrament Parish and School. He was a devoted sports fan and fervently rooted for the Ravens, Redskins, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards, Villanova Wildcats, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and happily shared his love of his favorite teams with family and friends. He enjoyed playing tennis, traveling all over the world with his family and was a car enthusiast and avid cyclist. Marty was a true “handy-man” and could build and fix anything. He proudly took part in each of his children’s unique hobbies and career accomplishments. Marty enjoyed constantly taking photos and home-videos of his family on their many adventures together and now they will have those memories to cherish forever. His joyful and humorous charisma will be missed by many.
