
IDELE EDELINE KRUITHOFF
Idele Edeline Kruithoff, 96, was born in Kensington, Minnesota on November 8, 1922, the youngest child of Magnus and Inga Marie Larson.
As a young woman, during WWII, she moved east to accept a civil servant position in Washington, DC. She continuously worked for the government for more than three decades before retiring from her supervisory position with the National Science Foundation (NSF). After her retirement, she enjoyed the camaraderie of working part-time at the information booth at Wheaton Plaza (Westfield Wheaton Mall) for several years. During that period, she enjoyed traveling to Eastern and Northern Europe, East Asia, and throughout the US and Canada. Idele throughout her life had many interest; in particular, she enjoyed reading, boating, swimming, going to the theater, ice skating, and gardening. Her long marriage to Robert Kruithoff ended in divorce.
Idele was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Rose Langseth, Evelyn Mertz, and Myrtle Taylor; and her brothers, Clarence Larson, Melvin Larson, and Morrell Larson. She is survived by sister in-law Marlys (Morrell) Larson, of Sun City West, AZ, several nieces and nephews, and many good friends and neighbors. A viewing followed by a memorial will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 10 a.m. through 11:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home located at 500 University Blvd. W., Silver Spring, MD 20901. Interment services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Fort Lincoln Cemetery at 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, MD 20722.
