
HARVEY GLEN KLOEHN
of Silver Spring MD died on Thursday, May 31st, 2018 at the age of 89. Harvey was born on July 10th, 1929 in McMillian, Wisconsin. He was the first in his family to attend college and graduated with honors with a degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University in 1951. Harvey served in the military as an electronics officer at Memphis Naval Air Station from 1952 to 1955 and served in the Naval Reserves for another 5 years. Harvey worked as an civilian engineer for the Navy from 1955 to 1985, first at Bureau of Ships and then at NAVSEA designing electrical system for submarines, aircraft carriers, and destroyers. After retiring from Civil Service, Harvey went on to work for Westinghouse in both Germany and the United States before retiring in 1991. Harvey was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church, having previously served as the president of the congregation. Harvey is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Ann Kloehn, his devoted children Patricia Ann Kloehn (Tom Bentz) and David Glen Kloehn (Tracey), his loving grandchildren Leslie, Evan, Alexandra, and Joshua, and his younger brother Gordon Kloehn (Joanne). Harvey will also be forever remembered for his kindness, humor and devotion by his beloved brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. A funeral will be held Tuesday, June 5th at Calvary Lutheran Church, 9545 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
