On Wednesday, January 4, 2012, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of David E. Baker; loving mother of Maureen (Jeff) Bell, Michelle (Glenn) Stidsen, Melissa (Peter) Franklin and her late infant son, Matthew Baker; grandmother of Chloe Stidsen; sister of Ann Surge and Paul Leptic. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking) on Sunday, January 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10103 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, January 9 at 11 a.m. Interment in Westport, CT at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wonderful team who provided supportive care for Joan and her family from Montgomery Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100, Rockville, MD 20850.
