Hodell  James (Age 57)

On Monday, July 30, 2018, of Hyattsville, MD.  Beloved wife of Sylvester James; mother of Phillip James and Esther James; daughter of the late Enos and Irene Nevers; daughter-in-law of Louis James and the late Ora Bell; sister of Daphne Griffin, Lolita Wilson, Laur Wilson, Shirley James, Carrol Sterling; sister-in-law of William, Darlene, Teresa, Jimmy and Miriam; aunt of Sonya, Malaika, Janell, Devon, Leon, Jackie, Peter,  Paula and Angelique. Also survived by a host of other nieces and nephews throughout the US, Jamaica, and the UK.

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies”

-Proverbs 31:10

Mother,  you define the very essence of this virtuous woman described in the few verses of Proverbs 31:10-31. You made sure you built your house upon the Rock, who is Jesus Christ . We have  watched you work hard and come home to devote to the various needs of your family  and loved ones.

You were committed to your home and you did not complain. You served your family with joy in seeing us happy and our needs met. You were our best support in so many ways, our rock, the glue that held us together, and our greatest cheerleader.

We love you.

Relatives and friends may call at  Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, August 10, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, August 11, at Restoration House International, 4600 Powder Mill Road, Suite 300, Beltsville, MD, from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; where the Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
