ROBERT J. HUGHES, JR. “Robbie”
(Age 61)
July 20, 1956 – July 29, 2017

Of Chevy Chase, MD passed away on July 29, 2017 unexpectedly. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Tamara. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Jean Hughes, (David Hackley), Kathleen M. Hughes (William Trautman), Carolyn L. Brady and Susan E. Yore, (John), and numerous, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert J. Hughes and Angela M. Sheehan, as well as, a brother, James P. Hughes and a sister, Ann Hughes-Nardick. He will be missed by his canine child, Cassy, also known as Ms. Boo.

He was a graduate of St. John’s College High School. He was a member of IBEW Local 26, Electricians Union as well as, a Master Electrician of his own electrical contracting company, Magic Electric, Inc.  Robbie was the type of person, who would give you the “shirt off his back”. No one remained a stranger to Robbie, they always became his friend. Robbie loved fishing along the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Relatives and friends may call at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Friday, August 4, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service is planned for Robbie in September.
