THOMAS J. HORRIGAN, SR.
Peacefully on December 12, 2011 at Montgomery General Hospital, after 83 years he departed this life and began his journey home with God. He was born May 17, 1928 in Quincy, MA to Stephen J. and Annie Horrigan. He was raised in the Bronx of New York. Tom served in the United States Marine Corps in Cherry Point, NC as an aircraft mechanic from 1946-1947. He retired as a Detective Sergeant from the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department after 25 years of service. He was President of the Men of St. John’s, St. John’s College High School from 1974-1975.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes E (Daniels). His legacy lives on in his children Thomas J. Horrigan Jr. (Nancy), Katherine Hinken (Mark) and Patricia Stump (Sam); his grandchildren Tiffany Horrigan, Tara Bewley (John), Amanda Casasola (Stuart), Katelyn Stump, Mark Hinken and Thomas Hinken; and two great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Thursday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Church, 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville, MD on Friday, December 16 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
