On Wednesday, January 7, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Ruth Howell Henkel; father of Geraldine “Geri” Markling, James R. Henkel, III, Kenneth H. Henkel and Daniel G. “Bud” Henkel. Also survived by dear friend Poi Yee, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, January 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Church of the Atonement, 10613 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20902, on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 12 p.m. Interment Parklawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Atonement.
