John Philip Gunn (Age 95)
On Tuesday, January 19, 2016, of Greenbackville, VA, formerly of Silver Spring, MD. He was born in Takoma Park, MD on September 5, 1920 to the late John and Carrie (Baker) Gunn at Washington, DC. John is survived by three daughters, Leslie Gunn Joliet and her husband Tim of Greenbackville, VA, Laurie Gunn Esler of Myrtle Beach, SC, Lisa Gunn Brown and her husband Hamilton of Chapel Hill, NC; two sons, John Gilbert Bell of Boyds, MD and James Scott Bell of Annandale, VA; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Petrie Gunn, mother, Carrie Baker Gunn, wife, Dorothy Louise Gunn, and brother, Louis Gunn. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, Tuesday, January 26, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. where Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
