SHARON S. GOODE
Sharon S. Goode was born on October 23, 1951, the only child to Yolanda Colella Smith and Walter Ellsworth Smith in Washington, DC. Ms. Goode spent the majority of her life in the DC Metro area. A graduate of Immaculata, Ms. Goode had long and successful careers in both the legal and medical professions. She started her career at the Department of Justice. Later, she spent a number of years as a medical assistant in the Gastroenterology Department of Georgetown University Hospital before returning to the legal profession, primarily in intellectual property. Ms. Goode completely retired in 2018, following part-time work in the Marquez Intellectual Property Law Office.
Ms. Goode was an avid reader, movie and theater goer, frequent traveler to the bright lights of New York City, and a beloved fixture in many Montgomery County restaurants.
On Friday, January 17, 2020, Ms. Goode passed away in the Emergency Room of Sibley Memorial Hospital in the company of her son, Christopher C. Goode, and her caregiver, Ms. Primrose Castell. She is survived by her son Christopher and her troop of cherished dogs: her one-eyed Cocker Spaniel Amber, Leonberger/Great Pyrenees mix Honey, Newfoundland Pennie and Chihuahua Peso. She will be sorely missed for her warmth, generosity, off-beat sense of humor, thirst for life, and resilience of spirit.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD 20901 (Valet Parking) on Friday, January 24 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society, Oldies But Goodies Cocker Rescue or Dogs XL Rescue.
