 On July 20, 2018, Joseph Wainaina Giceha of Rockville, Maryland passed away peacefully at Suburban Hospital early that morning. He was the beloved husband of Hanna Wainaina, devoted father to Alvin and Melissa Wainaina. Son of the late Stephen Giceha Wainaina and Martha Wambui Wainaina. Brother to Peter Wainaina, John Wainaina, and Andrew Wainaina.

Joseph was born on October 5, 1967, in Mombasa, raised in Nairobi, Kenya, and moved to the United States in 1997 where he first lived in Texas and later moved to Rockville, Maryland, where he resided until his passing. Joseph was a hardworking individual who never passed up the opportunity to be a helping hand. He was humorous, jovial, and loved to spend time with his family and loved ones. Joseph was a great host who loved nature, animals, farming, cooking and made amazing nyama choma. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Church, 917 Montrose Road, Rockville, Maryland 20852 on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 12 Noon.  Immediately following the service there will be a reception also at St. Elizabeth Church Commons at same address.
