On Monday, August 26, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Margaret C. Gellner; father of Anne Miller, Michael, Christopher, Paul, Mark, David, Charles and Anthony Gellner; brother of John Gellner. Also survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was a Lt. in the
US Navy during
WWII, serving in the Pacific Fleet and was involved in the battle of Iwo Jima. He retired as the Chief of the Foreign Affairs Division of the Congressional Research Service.
