Born January 1, 1977, succumbed to cancer on Wednesday June 5, 2013 at Georgetown University Hospital, after a courageous but short battle. Beloved daughter of Aida Chaviano and Alberto Galeano; sister of Alberto Galeano, Jr. Also survived by cousins, aunts, and countless friends. Veronica was a life-long resident of Montgomery County, MD, who graduated from Magruder High School and the University of Maryland. Her first love was soccer, but she also enjoyed traveling, doing home improvement projects, D.C. sports, trying out new restaurants, playing softball, going to happy-hour with her co-workers, and spending time with her younger cousins and loved ones. She was taken too soon and will be sorely missed. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Church, 2900 Olney-Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD, on Saturday June 15, at 11 a.m. Interment private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Veronica Galeano Memorial Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 16810 Georgia Avenue, Olney, MD 20832. The proceeds of which will be used toward the education of her beloved god-daughters.
