On Wednesday, April 27, 2011, of Silver Spring, MD, during the prime of her life. Beloved daughter of the late Francis J. and Antoinette B. Flanagan; sister of Robert (Phyllis), Mary A. and Margaret Mary; life companion of Bob Ford for 44 years. Also survived by two nephews and one niece. Adelaide earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Trinity College, Washington, DC in 1971 and specialized in computers during her 32 year career with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. An avid gardener and sports enthusiast, she was skilled in ice skating, skiing, biking, and especially volleyball where she excelled as the setter on many local volleyball teams. She’ll be remembered for her enthusiasm, energy and love of laughter. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday, May 1, 6 to 9 p.m. at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Chapel, Western Ave. at Quesada St., NW, Washington, DC. Mass of Christian Burial at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament on Monday, May 2 at 11 a.m. Interment Rock Creek Cemetery.
