PETER FERKO (Age 89)

On Saturday, September 27, 2014, of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of the late Johanna Julia Ferko; devoted father of Peter Ferko, Anna Sody and Theresa Butrum; loving grandfather of his six grandchildren. Mr. Ferko worked as a mechanical engineer for private industry and the federal government, including the Naval Research Laboratory. He was known for his curiosity about life around him and for always helping friends and family. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.; with Parastas at 8 p.m. Funeral of Divine Liturgy at Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family, 4250 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC, on Saturday, October 4, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family.
