DOROTHY JANE SOUDER EASTERLY

“Dot”

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at her home in Silver Spring, MD. She was born to Lester T. and May B. Souder on July 26, 1921 in Washington, DC. Her love of family, friends, life and country continued throughout her 90 years. She was the essence of “Live well, laugh often and love much.” She graduated from Montgomery Blair High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Lyman E. “Duck” Easterly. They raised four children in Silver Spring, MD. She is survived by three children, Lee Ellen Easterly, Margaret M. Gazda (Tom) and Glenn E. Easterly (Linda); four grandchildren Laura Fronk (G.L.), Michelle Mackall (Toby), Carolyn Easterly (Jim), Jennifer Krasowski (Paul) and nine great grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend. A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 1607 Grace Church Road, Silver Spring, MD, on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 A.C. Skinner Parkway, #100, Jacksonville, FL 32256 or to Fisher House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike, #420, Rockville, MD 20850.
