Fr. Thomas Edward Dubay, S.M.

On Sunday, September 26, 2010, at age 88, of Washington, DC. Born December 30, 1921 in Minneapolis to the late Elie Albert and Leah Caron Dubay, Fr. Dubay entered the Society of Mary (Marists) on September 8, 1944, where he recently celebrated 60 years of ordained ministry. He held doctorate of education from The Catholic University of America. He was a famed international retreat master, the author of more than 20 books, and had a close association with EWTN.
Fr. Dubay is survived by two sisters, Marie Dubay and Veranne Dubay Paquette ; two brothers, Alan Dubay and Eli Dubay ; their families, and his brother priests and religious in the Society of Mary. He was preceded in death by his brother, Deacon Frank Dubay and sister, Norma Dubay Schepers.
Relatives and friends may call at the chapel of The Little Sisters of the Poor (Jeanne Jugan Residence), 4200 Harewood Road, NE, Washington, DC, on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Marist section of Mount Olivet Cemetery, Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Fr. Thomas Dubay, S.M. to the Marist Retirement Fund, Marist Center, 4408 8th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20017-2298.
