Florrie Drake, 89, of Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Potomac, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Montgomery Hospice-Casey House in Rockville, MD. The beloved wife for 68 years of the late Robert L. Drake, she is survived by children, Robert, Jr. (Mary Jo) and daughter, Kathleen Drake; grandchildren, Jeffrey Drake (Christie) of Germantown and Cynthia Zalewski (Jefry) of Gaithersburg; great-grandchildren Timothy, Sarah and Rebecca Zalewski and Connor and Caitlin Drake; one brother, Lee Childs (Roberta) of Oakton, VA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Florrie was born in New York City, grew up in northern New Jersey and in University Park, PG County, MD. She graduated from Hyattsville High School in 1943. A memorial service will be held at the Church of Christ at Manor Woods, 5300 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD 20853 on Saturday, August 22 at 2:30 p.m., with a reception to follow. Inurnment will be at Parklawn Memorial Park at a later date.
