It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that the family of Irene J. Downs announce her passage on Sunday July 1, 2018. Cherished wife and best friend of Gary for 30 years. Much loved mother of Kristin and her fiancé Dan Kessler. Beloved sister-in-law of Susan Reid and her husband Richard. Will be sadly missed by stepdaughter Kelly Bryant, nephew Scott Reid, niece Lindsay Glass, niece Christina LaCroix and nephew Frank Mazeika and their families. Loved by Halle and Oliver. Irene adored her family above all else and was a giving and loving woman. Gary and Irene loved to travel and one of her favorite places was Deep Creek Lake. Visitation with the family will be held at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, July 7 from 12 Noon to 1 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations welcomed by the family in support of Ovarian Cancer Research or your local Animal Shelter.
