THOMAS EDWARD DOOLEY

Thomas Edward Dooley, M.D. of Olney died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 after a short battle with cancer. He was 77. He is survived by his children, Hillary (John) Mark and Tim (Erin) Dooley and his grandson JJ. His marriage to Sharon Dooley ended in divorce. Tom grew up in Perth Amboy, NJ and was graduated from Seton Hall University. He moved to Washington, DC in 1961 to attend medical school at Georgetown University. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966-1968 and was stationed at Hill AFB in Utah, returning to the DC area after his service. Tom opened his own medical practice in Olney in 1976, where he continued to serve patients until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of the Sandy Spring Friends Meeting and served for many years as the Medical Director of the National Lutheran Home. Relatives and friends may call at St. Andrew Apostle Church, Kemp Mill Road and Arcola Ave., Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, January 9, beginning at 11:30 a.m. where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends House in Sandy Spring.
