Kathleen Elaine Dixon (Age 67)
Kathleen Elaine Dixon, age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 28, 2019, after battling rare and difficult to treat diseases for many years. She was born in Washington, D.C. on July 20, 1951, to the late Frederick and Margaret Donahue. In August 1973 she married the love of her life and best friend, Lawrence Dixon, who preceded her in death in 2007. She was a loving and dedicated mother to Michael Dixon (Diana Santos) and Elizabeth Lessig (Patrick Bailey). Her children meant the world to her and she will be sorely missed.
After graduating from Elizabeth Seton High School in 1969, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1973. Her first job was for the Environmental Protection Agency where she co-authored and edited research papers conducted by the agency. She then found her passion working as a realtor, finding success at RE/MAX Realty Centre, where she won multiple awards for her achievements.
She had a positive outlook on life, was always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand to those in need, and made friends everywhere she went. She was kind, open-hearted and generous, donating her time and money to the Children’s Miracle Network and family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed spending time at the beach in Ocean City, MD, eating seafood with family and friends, celebrating Christmas year-round, and collecting antiques.
She is also survived by her sisters Josephine Waugh (Ken) and Sharon Donahue (Rodney Conway), her nieces Christine Waugh and Jada Donahue, and her nephews Ted Donahue and James Conway.
