Lily Beatrice De Freitas

January 13th, 1947 – September 23rd, 2019
Lily Beatrice De Freitas was born in Bloomfield Guyana South America on January 13th, 1947 to Esther Fable and Basil Ali. She was the eldest of eight children.
Along with her wonderful parents, Lily is predeceased in death by her loving husband, Joseph De Freitas. She is survived by her two children, Margaret Gurwah and Dominic De Freitas, five grandchildren: Ashley, Matthew, Christopher, Kennard and Alexander, son in law Kenneth Gurwah and daughter in law Latoya Abatan De Freitas, her brothers and sisters: Milton, Nelson, Esau and Samuel Fable, Patricia May Sahadeo, Rita and Mary Fable, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her extended family that were proud to call her Sister, Grandma and Aunty, and wonderful friends she called family near and far.
Lily left her home of Ulverston Village, Guyana and resettled here, in the United States, in 2006. Lily was a woman of infinite patience and humbleness. Her home was opened to anyone and everyone whose needs she placed above her own. She had the most beautiful flower garden and a community convenient store which she loved so much. She was dedicated to her Catholic Faith and supported her home churches in Guyana. Her heart was always filled with love, compassion, and generosity. Overall, Lily was a remarkable woman.
Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd., W, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Friday, September 27, 2019, from 7-9 pm and at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 7501 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, MD on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 9 to 10 am, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am. Interment George Washington Cemetery.
