Died peacefully on April 15, 2016 in Silver Spring, MD. He was 89.  Bob was born on October 26, 1926 in Fort Riley, KS to Robert Noy Daniel and Laura Louise Murrell Daniel. He graduated with a BA from Loma Linda University in 1949 and attended graduate school at Washington State University. He had a 30-year career with the National Security Agency and was a charter member of the Phoenix Society. Bob is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. Daniel; children, Robert N. Daniel III, Richard C. Daniel (Cathy G. Gardner), John M. Daniel (Denise E. Gilliland) and Patricia K. Daniel (Phillip Gonzales); grandchildren, Laura Samalya (Ian Samalya), Michael Daniel, Christopher Daniel, Elizabeth Hanson (Richard Hanson), Cory Gilliland-Daniel, Brady Gilliland-Daniel, Kayla Daniel-Gonzales and Camden Daniel-Gonzales; sisters, Jodi Robinson and Dotty Christman; great-grandchildren, Fyra Hanson and Oliver Samalya; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by son, James S. Daniel and brother, Leo Daniel. A memorial service is scheduled for April 30 at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Congregational Church (UCC), 9525 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD. Reception to follow.
