Joseph Louis Damiano (Age 86)

Passed away on Monday July 30, after a courageous battle with Leukemia (AML). He is survived by his loving wife Helen Damiano, his children Janet (David), Susan (Steven), Joseph (Lisa), Michael (Susan), and Rachel. Two brothers, John Damiano and Maurice Damiano. Grandchildren, Sarah Zlatich (Mark), Kristin Cook (Nicholas), Joseph Damiano, Rebecca Malinowski (Shaun), Johnny Stockstill, Mary Shaw, Kelsey Harryman (Elgin), Gabriella Damiano, Francesca Damiano, Angela Brand, and Sierra Stockstill. Great Grandchildren, Isabella, Owen and Everett, and many loving nieces and nephews grand nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Angelo and Susan Damiano, Brothers and sisters, Nancy Jelenewicz, Mary Costanzo, Carmen Damiano, Ralph Damiano ,Thomas Damiano and also son-in-law John Stockstill. Joseph was born and raised in Kelayres, Pennsylvania, he was a Korean War Air Force Veteran. He spent the last 63 years in the Silver Spring area working in sales for 50 years and retired from T. Clifton Howard Company as President of the company. He was devoted to his family and church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Rosensteel Council spending Friday night dinners with his friends. He enjoyed many years of volunteering for the Knights, and spending time at his home in Bethany Beach. He was known for his infectious laugh and calling every day a “good day.” Friends and family can call at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 70 University Blvd E, Silver Spring, MD 20901. A Visitation will be held Sunday August 5, 2018 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church from 4pm-7pm and A funeral mass will take place the following day, August 6, 2018  at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, Joe’s wish is for donations be made in his memory to either the Infusion Center at University of Maryland or Holy Cross Hospital for all the love and compassion he has received this past year.
